The vineyard, situated in North Canterbury's Waipara Valley on north-facing terraces, enjoys a unique mesoclimate protected by the Teviotdale Range. With over 30-year-old vines planted primarily on their own roots in low-fertility "Glasnevin Gravels" soil, the vineyard produces low yields of high-quality, flavorful grapes that fully express the terroir. Warm days and cool nights extend the ripening period, maintaining good natural acidity.
