Kuzubağ Çal Karası 2024 is a dry, light-to-medium-bodied red wine made exclusively from Çal Karası, an indigenous Turkish grape closely associated with the high-altitude vineyards of Çal in Denizli. The area’s continental conditions and significant differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures help preserve the grape’s freshness and lively natural acidity. Pale ruby in colour, the wine offers vibrant red-fruit character supported by delicate spice, subtle earthiness and restrained oak. Its combination of freshness, moderate tannins and distinctive local identity makes it an approachable expression of one of Türkiye’s lesser-known native varieties. The supplied bottle identifies Kuzubağ, Çal in Denizli and the 2024 vintage.

Production Notes
Made from 100% Çal Karası, with approximately 56% of the wine matured for five months in predominantly second-use 500-litre French oak barrels to avoid excessive oak influence. The remaining wine is matured in stainless-steel tanks to preserve freshness and pure red-fruit character.
Tasting Notes
Pale ruby with aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry and red forest fruits, accompanied by thyme and delicate spice. The palate is juicy and silky, with lively acidity, moderate tannins and a crisp, lightly tart finish.
Food Pairing
Pair with grilled lamb, roast chicken, köfte, chargrilled vegetables, mushroom dishes, tomato-based pasta, Turkish meze or semi-hard cheeses. Serve slightly cool at approximately 14–16°C.

We offer free next-day delivery on all UK Mainland orders over £150. For orders under £150, a delivery fee of £10 applies. We also deliver to Northern Ireland, the Highlands, Scottish Isles, and the Scilly Isles for £12, and to the Isle of Man for £20. Orders are dispatched Wednesday to Friday, with cheese orders specifically dispatched on Wednesday and Thursday.
Yes, we offer a Click & Collect service. Orders will be ready for collection one hour after placing the order. You can collect from our shop in Bromley Cross, Bolton, Wednesday to Sunday during our opening hours (Islington Wines).
