Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt 100th Anniversary Limited Edition
£799.00
Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt 100th Anniversary Limited Edition is an exceptionally rare Japanese single malt whisky created to commemorate a century of Suntory Whisky. It combines carefully selected peated malt whiskies matured for at least 18 years in various casks.
Hakushu’s granite-filtered mountain water helps shape an elegant style in which smoke remains refined and balanced, revealing vibrant fruit, fresh herbs and delicate sweetness rather than overpowering the whisky.
Tasting Notes
Luminous gold in colour. The nose opens with sage, ripe green apple and hints of pineapple, followed by gentle peat smoke. The palate is complex and elegant, combining herbal notes, grapefruit, acacia honey, pepper and layered smoke.
The finish is long and clean, with lingering sweet smoke and fresh green citrus.
Production Notes
Produced at the Hakushu Distillery using carefully selected peated malt whiskies aged for a minimum of 18 years in various cask types.
The distillery’s mountain water, naturally filtered through ancient granite, softens the whisky’s smoky character and contributes freshness, balance and finesse.
This limited release meets the Japan Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association’s standards for Japanese whisky.
Serving Suggestion
Serve neat in a tulip-shaped whisky glass to appreciate its evolving herbal, fruity and smoky aromas.
A few drops of still water may be added to open the whisky, while a single large ice cube creates a slower, more refreshing serve.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with smoked salmon, grilled scallops, yakitori, roasted duck, charcoal-grilled mushrooms and lightly smoked cheese.
Dark chocolate and desserts made with honey or citrus also complement its elegant peat and fruit character.
