This Pétillant Naturel is a harmonious blend of Pinot Gris, Grüner Veltliner, and Riesling, sourced from three distinct vineyard sites in Marlborough, New Zealand.
The Pinot Gris, grown on light alluvial gravels at the confluence of the Waihopai and Wairau Rivers, contributes lifted aromatics and vibrant primary fruit notes. Grüner Veltliner, from the warm yet ocean-cooled Central Wairau Valley, lends structure and a signature peppery edge. Riesling from the same region imparts refreshing acidity and bright citrus character.
These vineyards lie on a dynamic river floodplain with soils ranging from stony river wash to deep alluvium. All sites are sustainably farmed and SWNZ accredited, with viticultural practices that include minimal spraying, open canopies, leaf plucking, and careful fruit and shoot thinning.
