This Syrah from Beaujolais, produced under the IGP Rhone Counties, offers a deep purplish color with an intense nose of black fruits, spices, and a woody touch. Handpicked two to three weeks later than Gamay and macerated for two weeks with a third of whole bunches, it is aged for 10 months in barrels (60%) and concrete vats (40%). Its gourmet palate with delicate tannins pairs well with grilled beef, lamb, and cold meats. While Syrah does not replace Gamay, its planting in 2015 on Château des Jacques' granite terroirs explores its resilience in Beaujolais' changing climate. The 2021 vintage, marked by extreme weather, resulted in dense colors, intense aromas, and a fresh, elegant structure. ABV: 14%.
