This estate, run by Paolo de Marchi, is yet another that has seen a dramatic rise in quality over the last few decades. Paolo's family, originally from Piedmont, purchased the estate in the 1960s. His attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery was the driving force that turned quality around.
Colour
It has a ruby red of medium intensity.
Bouquet: The aroma is full and intense, reminiscent of the red and black berries; especially raspberries and cherries, but also violets and aromas of underbrush, truffle and wood. Intense green herbs. Integrated barrel, both marzipan and almonds. Hint of earthy forrest floor.
Palate: Juicy, smooth and elegant. Great fruit quality delicious red and black fruit. Integrated barrel notes of almonds and dried herbs. Great barrel notes. Beautiful concentration, acidity and intensity. Long finish.
Beautiful Chianti Classico.
