The wine style is red, rich and intense, with this blend being identified as a “rare red” - a term used for red wines crafted from unusual combinations of grape varieties. Opulent and potent, this wine shows a deep vibrant colour. Initial aromas are of perfumed violets, toasted marshmallows, vanilla and nutmeg. The dominant varietal characters here are black currant and crushed leaf flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon. After the first taste of the wine, the palate experiences a “palate-coating” mouth feel of blueberry, blackberry, plum and bittersweet cocoa coupled with a stimulating flavour of mint and violet. The texture of the wine is balanced, with the Touriga variety providing a little grip.

This wine is great when served with grilled and roasted red meats, pizza, pasta, rich casseroles and spicy dishes.
